Private Mentor/Consulting
This is one on one mentoring/consulting for 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on your desire. Mentor/Consulting tends to be more of a discussion about the work. e.g.: working through a struggle, critique, strategizing, process, studio set up, art and business, etc. It can be designed for any need. It’s generally not painting time, other than maybe to paint something specific, to feel more confident moving forward, or to learn a particular technique. This can be done in person, by phone, or virtually. How it would work: Depending on your technical skills…either email or text me photos of your painting(s) 24 hours ahead of time. We can talk on the phone and discuss your work, virtually connect or in person.
Mentor/Consulting Fee: 1 hour -$60, 3/4 hour -$45, 1/2 hour -$30

Private And Group Oil Painting Lessons
I teach private and group oil painting lessons for adults and teens. I work with an individualistic approach which allows students to paint what they want and go at their own pace. I like to chat with each new student before taking the class to learn what their goal is and to best glean how to guide their unique creative process. Each session has an optional assignment or challenge for those students who would like more direction and/or to discover a new technique. Often the class works on diverse paintings with a few participating in the assignment/challenge. Each session focuses on learning the basics of oil painting materials, foundations of color theory, color mixing, composition, and critique. Class can also be used to learn helpful tips and techniques to help promote art professionally. The classes are sprinkled with beginners, intermediates, and beyond students. Each class contains a relaxed, supportive, and encouraging atmosphere enabling the student to find a distinctive pathway to oil painting.

More info about classes
Private Lessons: This format is geared for an independent student/artist seeking to improve their proficiency or concentrate on a particular painting skill e. g. composition, color, getting loose, getting tighter, realism, values, subject matter, etc. Lessons are interactive with periodic instruction, coaching, discussion, observation, and demonstration of technique. These sessions are great for students whose schedule doesn’t allow for classes, want one on one instruction, or are working on their portfolios. They’re also used for the beginner to get more individual attention and/or to learn some semantics before jumping into a class.
Semi-Private Lessons: This format offers an opportunity for beginners, intermediates, and beyond to arrange their own grouping of two, three, or four while still providing individual attention. It allows the group to have input on what to work on. e.g. composition, color, getting loose, getting tighter, realism, values, subject matter, learning a particular skill, simply having fun with paint, etc. We can work together on ideas and themes and/or I can provide a direction for the class. This is a wonderful way to hang out with friends while either discovering a new talent, getting back to a past passion, or progressing skills.

Drop-In Summer Oil Painting Class for the Beginner, Intermediate, and Beyond (ages 15 to adults)
Drop-In classes works like this…
You can lock in your dates ahead of time or let me know the Monday before class if you’re going to make it (this ensures the class won’t be overcrowded and on the other spectrum, that it will run, or if you wake up in the mood to paint you can email or call me between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. to see if the class will be held (as I need a certain number to run the class) and to be sure there’s room. Bring in whatever it is you’d like to paint. e.g. items for a still life, photo, or set up to do an interior, paint the ocean view, etc. If you can’t decide, bring in a couple of options and we can talk about the possibilities! This is a very casual and encouraging class with each student working on their own unique painting. All supplies will be provided. Feel free to bring your own supplies if you prefer. If you have never painted before, please call me ahead of time, so we can chat how I can best guide you. 781-837-7982
